Stress analysis is carried out according to particular standards e.g. AD Merkblatt 2000, ASME VIII sec.1 and sec. 2, etc. and also with FE method.
For standard calculations, VVD software is used. For FEM calculations, we use sw FEMAP with NX Nastran, or ANSYS.
